Students who have successfully completed a four-year course of BSS (Honours) at the college’s Department of Criminology are eligible masters in criminology dhaka university for the Master’s Programme in Criminology. This programme lasts one year and is divide across two semesters. Only successful BSS (honours) programme graduates will be eligible for admission to the MSS programme in Criminology during two academic years.

The Schedule:

The program lasts a year and consists of 32 credits separate by two semesters. Each semester will be 19 weeks long, with fifteen weeks allocated for class teaching, one week as a preparatory break, and three weeks for the duration of the final examination.
The program will consist of eight course units totaling 800 marks, which will be translate as 32 credit hours.
The total course load will be evaluate using 800 total marks for 6 full component taught courses, 100 points for a dissertation (thesis may be given in certain circumstances), and 100 marks the comprehensive and preliminary voce. Students may be permit to substitute one taught course for a thesis.
Each full-unit course is worth 100 points, and each half-unit course is worth 50 points.
The weekly amount of lectures classes/contact hours will be decide by the credit hours allot to each course.

Questions of Various Natures, Patterns, and Types:

Many choices are available for question setting and examinations; for example,

Take-home or open-book test featuring a combination of short and long-answer questions;
seat test with a combination of multiple-choice, short-answer, and essay questions For our purposes, two essay-type questions out of three would be address in the mid-semester examinations worth 20 points.
Five essay-type questions out of eight would be answer in the final assessment worth 50 points.

Grading and evaluation:

  • last exams of the semester

  • class attendance
  • class presentation

Grading Scheme:

The Interpretation of Grades:

  • ‘B+,’ ‘B,’ and ‘B-‘ grades indicate a student’s overall’very good’ performance, earning points for their grades of 3.25, 3.00, low 2.75, respectively.
  • ‘C+’ and ‘C’ scores indicate a student’s overall ‘good’ performance, receiving scores of 2.50 et 2.25, respectively.
  • A ‘D’ grade represents a student’s minimally acceptable ‘passing’ overall performance, receiving a grade point of 2.00.
  • An ‘F’ grade denotes a student’s overall ‘failed’ performance, i.e., failure to earn a single credit point.


A student must have an overall grade point average (Semester GPA) of 2.00. To be promote from the first year to the second semester.

A student who fails to pay the annual universities or departmental. Dues for the academic year will not be promote during the next semester.


  • A student who receives a ‘F’ in any course may improve his or her mark in the next batch.
  • Once the authorization is given, no further improvements are permit.


A student must apply for readmission within one month following the announcement of the semester’s results. Grades acquired previously by an applicant in the readmission class are no longer valid. And the student must retake all course work and tests.
Only one admission in the course of a semester is permit.


After taking readmission during any semester, a student who fails to acquire the GPA require for promotion from a single. Term to the next would be withdrawn from the program. A student who receives a F in any of his or her classes after completing improvement exams or reintroduction. In any period of class will be withdrawn from the program.
